Music Monday: Son of a Preacher Man
So I'm working on my new book, and I'm thinking about one of my MCs. He's the son of a popular minister in a small Alabama town. He's in the closet, fearful he might bring scandal to his father and his sister, both of whom he loves dearly.
But I couldn't quit thinking about what he'd have been like as a teenager if he wasn't so afraid. I think he might have been the stereotypical preacher's son: all goodness and light around the grownups but otherwise trying to get in the pants of any guy he thought might be interested.
Well, then you know I couldn't get that song out of my head. You know the one. I still have it stuck in my head this morning.
(I picked this version because I couldn't find a Dusty Springfield video I really liked. And Joss Stone is HOT here.)
